New Clear Optical Crystals Added
If you haven't seen yet, there are now 39 products listed in the clear optical laser crystal catalog.
The warning of these crystals going away has also been removed. The vendor for these crystals found a new distributor and is, for now, going to continue stocking them. I think this is awesome because these crystals are really, really great. I love them!

Shipping Zones and Delivery Times - Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
The Shipping Zones and Delivery Times section of the FAQ has been updated. It now differentiates between contiguous and non-contiguous deliveries.
Contiguous represents the 48 contiguous states within the U.S.
Non-contiguous represents Alaska and Hawaii, as well as Canada.
The biggest update has been with non-contiguous deliveries. You'll now find a more realistic delivery schedule for shipments based on warehouse requirements and carrier schedules. Although there will be instances in which delivery times could be quicker, orders to non-contiguous locations should typically arrive between 10 and 22 business days.
Note: A business day is equal to a normal working weekday, and depends on which carrier is being used to deliver your order.
Both Shipping Zones and Delivery Times as well as Shipping Methods / Costs sections are also reflected in the Required Reading information (a required checkbox at the bottom of the billing/delivery information checkout page indicating the shipping section of the FAQ has been read and understood).

Shipping Methods / Costs - Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
The Shipping Methods / Costs section of the FAQ has been updated and now outlines the delivery costs in detail based on the delivery method.
Contiguous represents the 48 contiguous states within the U.S. Non-contiguous represents Alaska and Hawaii, as well as Canada.
There are 3 delivery methods:
- 1. Contiguous - Standard
- option # 3 on the shopping cart: Canada/Alaska/Hawaii
2. Contiguous - Rush
- option # 2 on the shopping cart: Rush Shipping - 3-4 Days
3. Non-Contiguous - Standard
- option # 1 on the shopping cart: Free Shipping Over 25 (representing free shipping for orders totalling over $25)
There is no rush delivery method for orders to non-contiguous locations.
The following is impressed in two locations within the FAQ:
Orders shipped outside the 48 contiguous U.S. states or Canada
Please use shipping option # 1 (Canada/Alaska/Hawaii), else your order will require modifications prior to processing.
The update now also outlines the overall GiftsForYou.Biz site structure. This may be moved (or copied) to another location later, but for now it works and exists. The basic premise of GiftsForYou.Biz is that there are 3 catalogs; each with its own style and offerings.

Required Reading - Shipping Zones and Delivery Times
Prior to ordering, all orders now require a checkbox to be checked on the delivery info page (near the bottom of the page) that will indicate the orderer (that would hopefully be you) has read and understood the "Shipping Zones and Delivery Times" section of the "FAQ / Ordering Info" page.
The checkbox message states:
Please indicate you understand the approximate delivery time for your order [ FAQ / Shipping Info ]. Suspicious info may require a follow-up phone call.
And we're not born all-knowledgeable, therefore, in the case you didn't already know, FAQ stands for "Frequently Asked Questions"

GiftsForYou.Biz Site - Main Page Streamline
Just a quick note to let you know that the main GiftsForYou.Biz page has been streamlined a bit.
- The "Meet the Owner" link has been moved to the "About Us" page.
- Both the "iWatchDog" and "ChildSafe" links have been moved to the "Privacy" page.
- The "Internet Safety/Kids" link has also been moved to the "Privacy" page.
In addition, the partner pages have also been streamlined. The "Top Link List" for each page has been removed, so that visitors can concentrate on the information within the pages, especially the main link page.
Hopefully these changes will enhance the site. And as always, please feel free to submit your feedback via the "Crystal Community" page.

Default Sort Order Change
Just a quick note to let you know that the default sort order has changed from "Price - Low to High" to "Date - Recent to Oldest). This way, you'll be seeing the newest products up front. But you can always change this back to sorting by price using the sort dropdown feature at the top of each products page.

Pricing Update
All prices have been adjusted to accommodate each product's associated units. That is, if an item is sold in a set of 3, the price will reflect the cost per "Set". For example, item 35064 is "$4.95 SET 6". Other units are DZ for Dozen, EA for Each, PK for Pack, and BX for box. There might even be a few others.
In addition to the new pricing format, you might also see some pricing adjustments. Some products had a lift while others came down in price. How many went up or down is difficult to gauge because at the same time, quite a few products became Bulk. So even if a price went down for an individual item, if its now being sold in bulk, the price will have gone up because there are multiples. Coming soon, all the bulk items will be categorized into their own menu item, such as "Bulk - Incense".

Donations were great this year! Especially for the default foundation: Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
This year, the foundation with the lowest donation amount has been made the default foundation, and so will most likely receive the most at the end of this year. This is the first year for the revolving foundation method, and it will cycle like this each year. The current default foundation is: National Breast Cancer Foundation
Another new addition to the Donations process, is the $10 minimum for each foundation. Because most customers accept the default foundation (it's certainly a difficult list to pick from ... they're all such beneficial organizations), some of the other foundations sometimes yield some very low numbers. In light of this, instead of only donating $1.37, for example, GiftsForYou.Biz will add the difference so that it rounds up to an even $10.

Catalog Request
Recently, a request was submitted via the "Suggest It" form for a catalog of GiftsForYou.Biz products. And although my e-mail response was kicked back by their e-mail server, here was my reply.
- If you follow the link shown below, it will display and allow you to add a catalog to your shopping cart. Please note however also that as of January 1, 2005, this catalog will no longer be available (it is being replaced by niche brochures that I probably won't make available).
I typically don't promote catalogs because items go in and out of stock so quickly that the catalogs are unreliable. The website on the other hand is updated twice per week, so is 99.5% reliable.
To compensate for the lack of a catalog, I would like to provide a printer-friendly version of the site. Any input you have on this concept would be greatly appreciated.

Resources / Partners Are Up for December 2004
Resources are up - Partners are in ... This month's tallies show us being up to 370 links; 353 are actively reciprocating. That's a 95.4% reciprocation rate. Pretty cool, eh? Small sites like ours make up the web.
A little philosophy on the partners that GiftsForYou.Biz will link to: No linking to sites that I wouldn't buy from myself. So, if you happen to find a questionable one in there, please let me know - I'd hate to learn the hard way ;) And if I find any I've missed, I'll remove them post haste.
Another news-bit ... we're going vertical. That means, the partners (reciprocal links) that we're accommodating are very close to what we offer; gifts. We're turning away more and more that aren't gift-centric, or are primarily affiliate based.

Unfortunately, only 59 of the 67 are actually available ... being these products are typically of very high quality, but are still very affordable to most Target and Wal-Mart shoppers, they tend to sell quite well.
