    Nellies Wholesale Bait Co. was started in 1986 by Nelson L. Nord.  Beginning with a single recreational pond, Nelson began catching his own minnows to feed his stocked game fish. After the construction of a few (20 plus) more ponds, Nelson began to raise his own minnows (fatheads and golden shiners). He began to sell off his excess to local bait shops and chose to enter into business on his own. Within a few years, Nellie saw the need for a steady supply of healthy baitfish. It did not take long before he realized that the demand outweighed the few minnows he could produce. Nelson then began buying different baits and delivering them to local bait shops in 1988. By building a personal relationship with his customers, his business continued to grow until 1999 when Nelson was diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, after only a year, Nelson passed away in Aug. 2000. From 1999 to the present, Nellie's has been owned and operated by Nelson's son and his wife, Eric and Tina Nord.  Keeping the same principles and traditions that Nelson valued, Nellie's has continued to grow into one of the larger bait wholesalers in the Northeast. 

We are located in Kennedy, NY.  About 15 minutes East of Jamestown.

Nearby fisheries include: Chautauqua Lake and the Allegheny Reservoir.
