Capital One Credit Cards
Capital One is currently one of the leading credit card distributors with a customer base of around 46 million. Application for the credit card is possible from the internet or in person from one of the companies representatives. Capital One offer several varieties of credit cards, each with their individual benefits relating to the needs of the customer. To be eligible for any of the credit cards the customer must be a UK resident.
Captial One Platinum Credit Cards
Firstly, they offer a card for customers who are in good credit, aged 21 years or over and have an annual income of over £10,000. Repayments are made at a rate of 3% of the outstanding balance with a minimum of £5. Transfer balances are possible and if made in the first six months of opening the account the customer will then be eligible for 3.9%APR for life. 0% APR interest is available on purchases for the first six months which increases to 10.9% APR thereafter. There is a credit limit of £25,000 and this includes protection against internet fraud liability. Therefore if a customer makes a payment over the internet for a product or service they will not be expected to pay for any further purchases made without their knowledge. Cash advances are also possible, however a handling fee of 1.5% (minimum of £2) is charged.
Capital One Classic Credit Card
Secondly, Capital One have a credit card entitled Classic Mastercard, with no annual fee. To be eligible to apply for this card customers must be 18 years of age or over with a limit of between £250 and £2500, ideal for students. Instant withdrawals are possible from cash machines, however 29.9%APR variable is chargeable for purchases made on the credit card. This rate is considerably higher than 10.9%. Again cash advances are charged at 1.5% with repayments of 5% of the total outstanding balance. Internet fraud protector is also included in the package.
Captial One Premier Credit Card
Finally, the most popular cards are the Capital One lifestyle credit card. These have the same benefits as the above packages, however the style of card is made to suit the customers hobbies or interests. These could include designs related to pets, football, flags, country views or food and drink, to name but a few. These credit cards are an accessory that some customers must have and are proud to produce when paying for items. These cards, as with the Mint mc2 card offers variety to a usually dull market.
