2/11/2005: Chancellor's Newsletter Community College Strategic Planning Task Force Update The Community College Strategic Planning Task Force met at Tallahassee Community College (TCC) on Wednesday, February 9, 2005. In the morning, subcommittee chairs, Dr. Torri Lilly (CFCC), Dr. David Sam, (PJC), Dr. Larry Calderon (Brow. CC), Ms. Tonjua Williams, (SPC), Dr. Pat Windham, and Mr. Ed Cisek, led by Dr. Bill Law, Chair of the Task Force, and Dr. Judy Bilsky, focused on identifying themes, setting goals, and aligning measures with the K-20 Strategic Plan. continued...

Workforce Development in the Florida Community College System (FCCS) consists
of training programs that prepare adult students for today’s workforce. These
programs serve adult learners, i.e., post-secondary students, by preparing them
for employment in a variety of industries that require well-developed technical
skills. Additional workforce development efforts are focused on providing skills
maintenance and enhancement through continuing education to those already employed,

LEESBURG -- On a recent afternoon at the Lake-Sumter Community College campus, Brad Keough cut the top off a bush with a set of hedge trimmers, looked up and posed a question to cameras capturing the action: "How can I afford to go to college?" College officials hope to answer that in about 30 seconds.
PCC promotes course offerings in New Horizons'
WINTER HAVEN - Polk Community College has some new course offerings to accommodate busy schedules. And if you can't make it to class at all, PCC has something for you too. Online registration for PCC begins on July 19, and this year's schedule features "New Horizons," a series of courses with alternative class times and locations.
KH couple donates $10k to SFCC
The Dean family believes in the community college educational system. Laura Dean said community colleges offer a variety of educational opportunities. Knowing how important a higher education is, the Deans have acted upon their belief and donated $10,000 to the Santa Fe Community College Watson Center.
