Those injured need extensive medical care and, if they survive, long-term physical rehabilitation and support to reintegrate into society. The Ottawa Convention requires victims be provided with such assistance. Press Release 8-12-2004 ICRC appeals for over 970 million Swiss francs for humanitarian work in 2005 Geneva (ICRC) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is asking for more than 970 million Swiss francs to fund its humanitarian work in some 80 countries in 2005.
