Key West Cloudburst | Issued on: Fri Mar 4th 2005
An area of thundery rain spread east across much of Florida during Thursday night and into the early part of Friday morning. Key West in the far south of the Florida Keys reported 50mm of rain falling in the 6 hours to 0600 GMT on Friday. That is well over the March average rainfall of 37mm.

Groningen Cold | Issued on: Fri Mar 4th 2005
Groningen lies in the north of Holland. Much of northwest Europe has been very cold over recent days. The minimum temperature reported in Groningen on Friday morning was minus 18.4 degrees Celsius, 19.5 degrees below the average March minimum temperature. By 1500GMT on Friday the temperature had climbed to minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, 10 degrees below the March average maximum.

Gibraltar Rain | Issued on: Fri Mar 4th 2005
Gibraltar has been extremely wet during the last 5 days with bands of rain affecting Gibraltar during much of the period. During the 126 hours to 1200GMT on Friday 321mm of rain was reported falling in Gibraltar. That is over three times the March average rainfall of 100mm.

Frozen Pittsburgh | Issued on: Fri Mar 4th 2005
Some cold air covers northeastern parts of America. With mainly clear skies overnight into Friday morning, the minimum temperature reported in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, was minus 13.9 degrees Celsius. That is over 12 degrees below the March average minimum.

Fiji Islands Rain |Issued on: Fri Mar 4th 2005
The island of Vunisea is part of the Fiji group of islands. A spell of steady rain brought 334mm of rain to the island during the 36 hours to 1200 GMT on Friday. That is just over the March average rainfall of 304mm.
