We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 mph sw winds going to my next favorite buoy. We got a small mahi on our first pass, then jigged and got nothing so we set up and went down towards my favorite buoy. On the way we found an iwa bird and took a triple striper but they all came off. We went under the iwa again and got a mahi, then a shibi and a rainbow runner. The birds just kept on hanging over the fish and we took a double mahi, and 4 more singles. Then we got to the buoy and we took a 4 banger and got 3 shibi and one aku. Then we jigged and got some  more shibi on the light line, there was some pole bending going on for awhile. Back in the harbor both Frank and Norm ate eyeballs out of the shibi. These guys are avid fishermen and it showed, they did great on all these fish today, good going men.  This was our last trip of the year, happy new year to you all, see ya next year. Aloha Capt Rusty

It was 5:00 when we pulled out on this day of 10 mph winds going to my next favorite buoy. We were the 3rd boat to the buoy, and took a 4 banger on our second pass and got 3 shibi and 1 aku. Then we took a triple and got all 3. Then we went to the light line and they were biting good. There were lots of doubles with Dave and Matt doing most of the angeling. There was lots of screaming reels as these shibi made some good runs. Back in the harbor only Dave was game to eat an eyeball. Good going men . Aloha Capt Rusty

Then we took a triple and got them all too,one more single and we went to the light line. The action was wild with shibi flying out of the water going for our lures, it was doubles most of the time. These guys got a good workout on all these fish, Steve and Mike did most of the angeling. The bag was happy when we left the bouy. In the harbor Steve, Mike and Kyle all ate eyeballs, I like it. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 5:00 on this morning after a night of radical thunder and lightning going to my next favorite buoy, winds were 15 mph variable. We took a 4 banger shibi on our first pass at the buoy and got all 4. Then we went to the light line and the shibi were biting good, some small ones and some big ones. When Scot baited  he hooked a small mahi and we got it. The action was steady, good fun on the light line. On the way in we had a mahi hit the rigger and we got it. In the harbor the Bradens were game to eat eyeballs out of the shibis. These folks did great on all these fish, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 6:00 on this day of 20 mph east winds going to my old favorite buoy. No big hits, so we jigged and got some small aku and shibi and ran them live.  The small ones were biteing good but no big ones came up, the boys had fun reeling in lots of small kind. Then we set up to troll away and with only one lure in the water it came down with something that was on for awhile but came off. No hits on the way in. In the harbor Don and Derek were game to eat eyeballs. These folks did real well with how rough it was out there today, they are seaworthy. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got underway at 5:00 on this day of 20 mph east winds going to my next favorite buoy. No hits at the buoy so we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran them live. Paul jigged up a nice 20 pound shibi on a clark spoon. We had someting nibble on one of our live baits but did not swallow it. Then a 8 foot hammerhead shark followed one of our baits in and then disapeared as fast as it had come in. It was a rough day, with almost no bird life to be seen. No hits on the way in. In the harbor both Paul and Jeff ate eyeballs out of the big shibi, I like it. These guys did great with what we had to work with today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 7:00 on this rainy day of 20 mph se winds going to my old favorite buoy. We took a mahi hit but it came off right away, then we caught some small aku and shibi and ran them live. No takers so we went to an other buoy and took  2 hits that came off, so we jigged and got some more small shibi. Scot baited up a nice 8 pound shibi. Then on the way in we took a bouble mahi and got them both. In the harbor Chuck, Aaron and Heather all ate eyeballs, I like it. These folks did great considering how rough it was. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Douglas Buck, and Moira Shea caught 2 mahi one shibi and some baits
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 5-10 mph winds and big 20+ foot surf going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass we got a small shibi, then we jigged and caught a few more shibi and aku, nothing big so we set up and went to another buoy. There we took a double and got one 12 pound shibi and lost a bigger something. When we put out the light line Doug had a good battle with a 15 pound shibi that came off right at the boat. When we baited Scot hooked up 2 small mahiand we got them. Then we went to one more buoy and got a few more shibi and aku. Back in the harbor where the surf was now 20 feet big Doug was game to eat an eyeball, they did great on this day of flat water with big swells. And the surf is forcast to be up to 50 feet on wednesday, surf's up. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Mike and Dave Shadley caught 4 mahi and 2 nice shibi
We left at 5:00 on this day of 25 + mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We were not the first ones to the buoy, and we took no hits on any of our trolling passes, so we jigged and caught some small shibi and ran them live. When Scot baited we hooked 2 nice shibi and Mike and Dave got them both. Next bait pass and Scot hooked 3 small mahi on 50 pound test and we got them too. Then we were jigging again and a nice 23 pound mahi came along and ate one of our small shibi and Mike got to reel in that one. On the way in we found some open schools of mahi but only took one hit that came off. In the harbor only Mike and I ate fish eyeballs. These guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty
