Parking     Free Balboa Tram

Located just minutes from downtown San Diego, Balboa Park is easy to get to and has something for everyone.

Balboa Park covers a huge 1,200 acres and is minutes away from downtown San Diego. Click here for a printable map of the park. Click here for a detailed map of the Park

Southbound from I-5.

Take the 10th Ave. exit off I-5. Turn left on "A" St. and left again on Park Blvd. Follow the signs to Balboa Park.

Northbound from I-5

Take the B Street/Pershing exit off I-5 to Pershing Street. Take Pershing and then left on Florida Dr. Turn left on Zoo Place to Park Blvd. Left on Park Blvd.

Southbound from Hwy 163

Take the Park Blvd. exit off Hwy 163. Turn left on Park Blvd. Follow the signs to Balboa Park.

House of Hospitality, in the center of the Park 1549 El Prado San Diego, CA 92101,

or Corner of Park Boulevard and Village Place This will put you at the east side of the Park.

Parking

Park in the spacious Inspiration Point parking lot (on the east side of Park Blvd., between Presidents Way and the Balboa Park Activity Center) for easy access to the heart of Balboa Park via the free tram. There are also numerous smaller lots throughout the Park.

Valet parking available Tuesday through Sunday evenings after 5:00 p.m.

Getting Around

The free tram provides access to Balboa Park’s museums and attractions. Park in the spacious Inspiration Point lot and wait at Tram Central, a shady arbor with benches for the tram will deliver you to into the heart of Balboa Park. Trams pick up from Tram Central every 8–10 minutes. Riders may also board at one of the designated pick-up areas around the Park. Make your first stop the Balboa Park Visitors Center in the House of Hospitality where you can pick up a bi-monthly Events Guide and a detailed map.

The tram operates seven days a week: 8:30 am - 6:00 pm. with extended hours during summer months.

The Balboa Park Tram is provided as a free public service by the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department.
