Adverse Events Associated With the Use of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs and COX-2 Inhibitors
FDA has obtained and is evaluating new and sometimes conflicting scientific data on adverse events associated with the use of several non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and COX-2 inhibitors. New data indicates an increased risk of major fatal and non-fatal heart attacks in clinical trial participants taking these drugs.

handles millions of calls from citizens who are trying to find that elusive
answer to their question. Call us weekdays toll-free at 1 (800) FED INFO between 8 a.m.
and 8 p.m. eastern time (except Federal holidays). We also have recordings
of frequently requested information available around the clock.
