Quepos Fishing is outstanding. Sailfish are most abundant throughout the year, however during the months of late December through May you should expect to see many free jumpers and excessive amounts of fish. Quepos fishing is Like no other place in the world. Marlin, Sailfish are taken year round with usually about 5 to 15 fish a day.

Costa Rica fishing charters - Pacific: The calm waters of Quepos Costa Rica's Pacific coast have long been known to produce some of the most spectacular sailfishing in the world. Here the acrobatic sailfish are the primary target, but mighty blue and black marlin, colorful dorado, some striped marlin, wahoo, and yellowfin tuna that range often join them in size from small footballs to 200 lbs.-plus giants. Closer to shore, the awesome roosterfish lurk around submerged rocks, ready to pounce on baits and lures. Costa Rica fishing - The port of Quepos is on the west coast in the center of the country. Right next to Quepos is the most popular National Park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio. This park is famous for it's beautiful beaches and abundance of wildlife. To have 10 shots at a sailfish in a day's fishing is common, 20 not unheard of and many days have been recorded when more than 30 sailfish were raised in a day.

The Costa Rican fishing grounds off Quepos are famous for the numbers of sailfish, but there is also a good chance to hook into a big marlin. These cobalt waters hold big dolphin fish, known as dorado here as well as several species of tuna and wahoo. Costa Rica fishing offers an opportunity to tangle with roosterfish, cubera snapper and broomtail grouper. The current world record snook at 57 pounds 12 ounces was taken at the mouth of the Rio Naranjo by a boat fishing out of Quepos.
