Famous for its 7 mile stretch
of white sand beach, Negril’s accommodations range from small
rustic cliff-side inns to larger beachfront resorts. The westend
(or cliff area) of Negril features excellent snorkeling, beautiful
sunsets and small casual restaurants. Cabs and shuttles run back
and forth to the beach for approximately $1-2 per person. The beachlife
centers around Legends Beach Resort and Risky Business (located
right next door). Within a short walk to Legends are numerous
restaurants, bars and
the following hotels; Cotton Tree, Bungalo, Coral Seas Garden,
Bar B Barn, Shields, Travelers, Coral Seas Beach, Negril Beach
Club, T-Water, Merrils, and Negril Gardens.
Choosing Your Hotel
When choosing your hotel determine your priorities (price,
location, hotel quality, hotel amenities) and pick your hotel
accordingly.
If your priorities are price and location we recommend hotels located
across the street from the beach including The Bungalo, Coral Seas
Garden and Daniel Village. These hotels are located less than 300
yards from beach and water. A little further away and less expensive,
we recommend the Cotton Tree Hotel. West End hotels offer a very
unique vacation experience at a very affordable price. For those
looking to be in the center of the action, we recommend the
hotels
listed
above.
Meal Plans vs All-inclusive
Many spring break tour operators offer free or discounted meal plans.
Do not confuse this with an all-inclusive
package. While the meal plans do provide a value, the meals are
usually restricted to certain restaurants. This means you may spend
more money traveling to the restaurant than you would spend on the
meal at or near your hotel. All-inclusive plans include all meals
at restaurants located in your hotel, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic),
landsports, watersports and in some cases nightly entertainment.
