As an associate editor for Kiplinger's, Kim covers a variety of personal finance topics, including retirement, investing, taxes, collectibles and financial planning, but her primary focus is on insurance.

She has appeared as a personal finance expert on radio and television, including NBC's Today Show, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.

Previously, Kim was an associate editor for Life Association News, an insurance trade magazine. Earlier in her career, she was an editor at Custom Communications Insurance Publishing, where she wrote and designed publications for major life and health insurance companies.

Kim holds a master's degree in American studies from the College of William and Mary, a bachelor's degree in the writing seminars program at Johns Hopkins University and a certificate in business administration from Georgetown University.
