Efficient and comfortable travel

Welcome onboard Northwest Airlines.

At Northwest, we’re committed to making your travel experience as comfortable and efficient as possible. Technology is playing an increasingly significant role in helping us do this, both in the air and on the ground.

In recent months, for instance, Northwest has announced that:

  • We have placed an order for eight Airbus A330 aircraft, and expedited the delivery schedule of three A330s already on order, which will eventually bring our total number of this aircraft to 32. Some of the most fuel-efficient aircraft in service today, Northwest A330s are equipped with our enhanced World Business Class, which includes the industry’s most advanced personal video systems and the only lie-flat seat on a U.S. airline. We’re already flying A330s on many of our trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific routes. By the summer of 2007, all our trans-Atlantic flights will be aboard these spacious new widebodies.
  • Our 16 Boeing B747-400 aircraft are now equipped with the new World Business Class as well, providing a premium trans-Pacific travel experience. Northwest offers service to more destinations in Asia, more flights to Japan, and more flights within Asia than any other U.S. airline.
  • For the increasing number of passengers who book online, we have in place a lowest-fare guarantee on tickets purchased in the United States through nwa.com. If you buy a ticket and later that day find a difference in fare of $5 or more for the same NWA itinerary through any other Web site, we will not only refund the difference in fare, but also provide a voucher good for $50 in future travel on Northwest. This not only saves you money, but time. With our guarantee of the lowest fare, there is no need to check other Web sites for a better value.
  • With our online mileage upgrades, members of our WorldPerks frequent flyer program who live in the U.S. or Canada can also use nwa.com to redeem miles for first class upgrades. Accessible under the “Flight Search” function of nwa.com, this feature informs you how many WorldPerks miles you’ll need and lets you complete the upgrade at the same time you book your reservation.
  • And in airports, we have more self-service check-in devices than any other carrier. We now operate more than 1,000 self-service check-in kiosks, in locations from Mexico City and Bangkok to Guam and London. In addition, we’re continually adding new functions to our self-service devices, including passport readers and luggage check-in capabilities. For more about our convenient check-in options, please see the Customers First column in this magazine.

Of course, our focus on comfort and convenience will never distract us from our primary mission –getting you to your destination safely, on time and with your luggage. Thank you for flying with us today.
