The Prado at Balboa Park, located in the House of Hospitality, is a full-service restaurant offering indoor and outdoor seating and is open daily for lunch and dinner. The unique décor blends the historical aspects of the House of Hospitality and whimsical accessories inspired by the Park museum collection areas. The diverse Latin-Italian fusion cuisine includes an array of appetizers, salads, panini sandwiches and imaginative entrée selections. The lounge combines a tapas menu with a wide variety of margaritas and other beverages. Albert’s is open year-round for lunch and serves dinner during the summer’s "Nighttime Zoo" experience. The restaurant is named after a famous zoo resident, Albert the Gorilla, who died in 1979. Balboa Park Food and Wine School San Diego's new center for food, wine education and entertainment where you can explore the enchanting world of culinary arts in the intimate and historic surroundings of the House of Hospitality. It's fun and loose and very simple, not technical. Class seating is limited to 16 for the cooking school and 25-35 students for the wine school. Cooking students sit around the Chef's exhibition kitchen in a bar-style setting allowing each participant a great view to observe the Chef's culinary techniques.
