Qualification Information
Please note: When purchasing at www.nwa.com, follow these steps to book a qualifying ticket.
- To travel in Coach Class: from the "Flight Search" page, under "Do you have any preferences?" choose "Qualify for 123 Free-Domestic Coach Class Fares" or "Qualify for 123 Free-Int'l Coach Class Fares" from the "Search for Fare Class" drop down. This will ensure your flight search looks for qualifying Coach Class fares for this promotion.
- To travel in First or World Business Class: from the "Flight Search" page, under "Do you have any preferences?" simply choose "Business" or "First Class." These fares qualify for this promotion.
- When selecting a ticket price, you may also review the "booking class(es)" notation to determine the booking class of your flight.
If purchasing at 1-800-225-2525 or through your travel professional, verify your booking class while making the reservation.
Qualification Terms and Conditions
- You must be a WorldPerks member with a mailing address in the US50 or Canada to participate in this offer. If you are not a member, enroll online at www.nwa.com or call 1-800-225-2525 to become a member and receive your account number. There is no cost to join.
- This offer is not retroactive. Award selection cannot be changed after registration. If you are unable to pre-select your award, please choose option 3. WorldPerks members must register for this promotion prior to the initial qualifying departure and not later than November 30, 2004. Northwest Airlines is not responsible for any malfunctions associated with web registration process that result in late registration or incomplete information.
- Participants must complete three (3) qualifying roundtrips to earn a Domestic Free Travel E-Cert. Participants must complete six (6) qualifying roundtrips to earn an International Free Travel E-Cert. Qualifying travel must occur after registration and be completed between September 9, 2004 and January 31, 2005. Qualifying Domestic travel must be on paid, published fares booking in P, F, R, U, C, J, Z, S, Y, B, H, M, Q and V booking classes. Domestic fares booking in L, T and K class are not eligible. Qualifying TransAtlantic travel must be on paid, published fares booking in P, F, R, U, C, J, Z, S, Y, B, H, M, and Q booking classes. TransAtlantic fares booking in V, L, T and K class are not eligible. TransPacific travel must be on paid, published fares booking in P, F, R, U, C, J, Z, S, Y, B, H, M, Q, T and L booking classes. TransPacific fares booking V and K class are not eligible.
- All qualifying travel must involve roundtrip travel and must originate or terminate in the US50 or Canada and be on Northwest or KLM flights (1-1999), Northwest Airlink flights numbered (2700-3799, 4700-4799, 5600-5999) and operated by Mesaba Airlines or operated by Pinnacle Airlines. A maximum of four domestic Free Travel E-Cert awards may be earned per participant. A maximum of two international Free Travel E-Cert awards may be earned per participant. The maximum number of qualifying roundtrips to earn a Free Travel E-Cert award is 12.
- A maximum of one qualifying roundtrip per day is permitted toward qualification. Roundtrip travel is defined as two one-way trips to and from a single destination. A one-way trip is defined as an initial origination and final destination regardless of the number of segments. Continuing flights scheduled within 4 hours on domestic itineraries (24 hours on International) are considered connections and will be counted as part of a single roundtrip, regardless of the number of tickets issued.
- WorldPerks members must fly and earn WorldPerks miles on a trip to qualify for an award. WorldPerks account number registered for the promotion must be used when completing any qualifying activity. Award from this promotion is in addition to your regular credited flight miles, class of service bonus and Elite tier Bonus Miles.
- Free Travel E-Cert will be e-mailed to WorldPerks member once qualifying travel has been completed and based upon selection by WorldPerks members during registration. E-mail address will be the most current e-mail address in Northwest's E-mail database, NWA E-mail, located at www.nwa.com/wpemail. If WorldPerks member's e-mail is not currently in Northwest's E-mail database, it must be provided when registering for promotion in order to complete registration and receive Free Travel E-Cert. WorldPerks member must maintain a valid e-mail address with NWA E-mail from registration date until 10 weeks after promotion ends in order to remain eligible for award. If valid e-mail is not available to Northwest at time of offer fulfillment, no award will be given. Please note: Many corporations use filtering software which prevents promotional messages from being delivered, even if you have requested to receive these e-mails. You may wish to provide a personal e-mail address instead of a business e-mail address to ensure that you receive all messages from Northwest Airlines. Northwest Airlines is not responsible for any malfunctions associated with e-mail collection process that result in incomplete information. All communications from Northwest Airlines will be through the internet. Please allow 4-6 weeks after completion of qualifying travel for Free* Travel E-Cert delivery.
WorldPerks members selecting the option to receive their awards after the duration of the promotion will receive an e-mail to select award (s). WorldPerks member must maintain a valid e-mail address with NWA E-mail from registration date until 10 weeks after promotion ends in order to remain eligible for award.
- Domestic Free Travel E-Cert is valid for travel within US48 and between US48 and Canada. For residents of Hawaii and Alaska, the domestic free travel is valid for roundtrip travel from Hawaii and Alaska to 48 contiguous United States. Award travel must be completed by June 10, 2005. Domestic award travel is valid in K class and must be on flights operated by Northwest Airlines, Mesaba or Pinnacle Airlines. K class inventory is limited and seats may not be available on all flights selected especially during peak holiday periods.
- International; Free Travel E-Cert is valid for travel from the US 48 and Canada to select Europe or Asia destinations operated by Northwest Airlines or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. For residents of Hawaii and Alaska, the International Free* Travel E-Cert is valid for roundtrip travel from Hawaii and Alaska to select Europe or Asia destinations operated by Northwest Airlines or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Award travel within the US and to Asia must be completed by June 10, 2005. Europe award travel must be completed by May 23, 2005 International award travel is valid in V class and must be on flights operated by Northwest Airlines, KLM, Mesaba or Pinnacle Airlines. Free Travel E-Cert Award Redemption
The Free Travel E-Cert offer entitles one passenger to a free roundtrip Coach Class ticket. The Domestic award travel is valid within the 48 contiguous United States or between the 48 contiguous United States and Canada. International award travel is valid from the 48 contiguous United States and Canada to Europe or Asia. For residents of Hawaii and Alaska, domestic award travel is permitted from Hawaii and Alaska to the 48 contiguous United States and International award travel is valid from Hawaii and Alaska to Europe or Asia. Travel is permitted on Northwest Airlines or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flights 1-1999 and select Northwest/KLM partner flights. The Free Travel E-Cert will be delivered via email 4-6 weeks after qualifying travel or at the end of the promotion period. (Maximum of 4 free domestic tickets or 2 free International tickets may be earned per participant)
Free Travel E-Cert Terms and Conditions:
- Ticketing/Travel period: Award tickets must be issued by May 21, 2005. Travel must commence on or after October 15, 2004 and all travel must be completed by June 10, 2005. Exception: For Transatlantic award travel: tickets must be issued by May 07, 2005 and all travel must be completed by May 23, 2005.
- Reservations/Ticketing: Award tickets must be issued no later than 14 days prior to departure, or 24 hours after reservation is made, whichever is more restrictive. Free ticket offer must be redeemed through nwa.com.
- Booking Class: K class for 50U.S./Canada travel and V class for Europe/Asia travel. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights selected. Minimum/Maximum Stay - Travel must include a Saturday night stay. The maximum stay is 30 days after departure. Blackout dates - 50U.S./Canada 2004: November 23, 24, 28, 29; December 17-23, 26, 28-30. 2005: January 1-3; February 18, 21; March 11-13, 18-20, 25-28; April 1-3. Europe 2004: December 20-25. Asia 2004: December 18-31. 2005: January 1-3; April 29-May 8.
- Itinerary - Travel must be roundtrip. One-way travel/stopovers/circle trips/open segments/waitlisting is not permitted. Single open jaws are permitted for international travel only. Same day standby is permitted for domestic travel only.
- Routing - The coach class domestic award ticket is valid only for travel within the US48 or between the US48 and Canada. The coach class international award ticket is valid for travel from the US48 or Canada to select destinations in Europe or Asia. For Hawaii and Alaska residents, the free coach class domestic ticket is valid from HI or AK to the 48US, and the free international coach class ticket is valid from HI or AK to Europe or Asia. All travel must be via the routes of NW/KL on which NW/KL publish Coach Class fares. NW Transpacific service must be used to travel to Asia. KLM flights to Asia are not permitted.
- Transferability - This offer is nontransferable. E-Certs purchased/auctioned tickets are subject to confiscation and travel will not be permitted.
- Changes/Refunds -Once issued, E-Cert tickets are nonrefundable. Changes may be made prior to scheduled flights for $100 administrative service fee. However, any change must meet the conditions of this program. Changes, which are requested after the originally scheduled/ticketed flight has commenced, are not permitted and the ticket has no value thereafter.
- Combinability - This E-Cert offer may not be combined with any other coupon, certificate, discount, bonus, upgrade, WorldPerks Air Travel Award, promotional offers/tickets or for group travel. This offer is not valid with Miscellaneous Charge Orders.
- Taxes - Free* ticket does not include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 roundtrip and September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 roundtrip. In addition: For travel from Hawaii and Alaska: Fare does not include departure/arrival taxes of up to $13.80 roundtrip. For travel from 48 U.S. to Canada: Fare does not include U.S. immigration fee of $7, Air Travelers Security Charge of up to $24CAD and Canada airport improvement fee of up to $15CAD. For other roundtrip international travel: Fare does not include departure/arrival, customs and immigration fees of up to $112.00
- E-Cert Offer - Limit of one free ticket per E-Cert. E-Cert has zero cash value and will be deemed fully used upon surrender and will not be honored retroactively or from participants in connection with the exchange of any wholly or partially unused ticket. Only original emails will be accepted. E-mail offer will not be replaced and cannot be requested. The use of the email offer embodied herein by anyone other than NW in any advertisement for any purpose, or the purchase or other acquisition of certificates by persons or entities in the travel service business is strictly prohibited and will render the E-Cert offer void.
- WorldPerks - WorldPerks mileage credit will not be awarded for travel awards earned in this promotion.
- Upgrades - Not permitted.
