Copyright in Australia

The Copyright Act, 1968 - An Act relating to copyright and the protection of certain performances, and for other purposes. This Commonwealth Act, as well as State Copyright legislation, includes provisions for legal desposit which has a bearing on library collections.

The Copyright Amendment (Digital Agenda) Bill, 1999 has, more recently, opened up considerable discussion and debate and the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) has published a response.
