Background
The client came to us with problems that many companies
face... Their existing hotel portals and booking engine
system wasn’t user friendly. They expected us
to build a customised real-time solution to be implemented
across portals that required to be redesigned too.
A leading online travel business based in the UK,
this was a test case for us. “Crack it, and
get all our portals”, was the single line of
its President that motivated us even more.
Challenge
The proposed Booking Engine had to have the flexibility
to integrate with several tour operator systems. Connecting
to different servers concurrently, the system had
to handle real-time multiple currency exchange rates.
Moreover, the said portals were to be hosted on a
single server, but accessible from many URLs to assist
the client’s online marketing program.
WebSource Solution
Programming the solution on a MS platform using ASP,
XML & XSLT, we made it easy for the customer to
find the ideal hotel as per his/her needs and reserve
it, instantly. The hotel bookings happen in real-time,
with the payment made via a secured payment gateway,
in a currency of the user’s choice.
Result
The new Booking Engine was researched to be truly
aiding the hotel booking process. It was deployed
across many of the client’s portals in different
technologies, depending upon the tour operator.
