ORDERING RECORDSPublic Record Office Victoria's records are stored in special climate controlled repositories for their long-term preservation. You can order records that you wish to view to be delivered from these repositories to the reading room where the records are located. You can order most records remotely and specify a convenient time for their delivery to the relevant reading room. In some cases you will be able to view records on the same day that you order them. This is especially true for Ballarat. Records are ordered using Archives@Victoria (A@V), our online gateway to our collections. Reference staff are available to assist with the ordering process if necessary. For more information on using A@V, see PROVguide 19: Registering and maintaining a public user account, PROVguide 20: Searching for records and PROVguide 21: Ordering records Some types of records will be on restricted access, by reason of their fragility or for reasons of privacy and confidentiality.
