The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) will provide a critical conduit between the U.S. private sector and the U.S. Government for information-sharing, threat integration, rumor control and timely notification of incidents, threats or other developing situations throughout the 2006 Turin Winter Olympic Games. OSAC’s Turin Winter Olympics outreach will involve organized briefings, daily emails, telephone consultations, website postings, web seminars, office consultations, and eventually, 24-hour on-the-ground coverage as was provided for the 2004 Athens Olympics.

The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), and its Executive Office administered by the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), initiated several expanded outreach programs in 2004. OSAC nearly doubled the number of Country Councils to over 100 and increased its constituency base by more than 300 new organizations - exceeding 2,700 constituent organizations and 600 associate members.
