 Islas Ballestas Peru tour

Islas Ballestas Excursion / National Reserve Paracas. 1 day.
Early in the morning we go to Islas Ballestas; the only way to see the birds like the booby, Peruvian pelican and many others. On our way to the islands we see a big drawing in the sand in the form of a “Candelabra”. Untill now nobody knows who made it. Around the islands we will see dolphins and sea lions. If you are lucky you see also the rare Humboldt Penguin. The trip takes 2 hours. After a good cup of coffee we continue to the national reserve Paracas. Also a Quechua word that means sand storm. Here we see Flamingos and beautiful rock formations along the shore. Enjoy the endless dessert in which an important pre Inca culture developed which trepanned the skulls to define the social classes.

Nazca lines flight

Flight over the Nazca Lines. Cemetery of Chauchilla. 1 day.
Usely the flight over the Nazca lines starts early in the morning. You can observe the huge geometric designs drawn in the desert and visible only from the air. Some designs represent a variety of giant animals, such as an 180m long lizard, a 90m long monkey with an extravagantly curled tail or a condor with a 130m wingspan. Others are simple but perfect triangles, rectangles or straight running for several kilometers across the desert. The flight takes about 30 minutes. In the afternoon we go to Cemetery of Chauchilla where the mummies are still in their natural tombs. On our way back to the city we visit a gold and ceramic procession and there we finish our tour in Nazca.

After Nazca, most of Peru4U's customers choose Arequipa as their next destination for their Peru travel experience. Check out Arequipa for your opportunities.
