- Opened September 15, 2001 at a cost of $332,140
- Designed with the help of a Skateboard Committee of 10-15
skateboarders, of various skill levels, ranging in age from 12-20
- Covers 19,000 square feet of fiberglass reinforced concrete
- Located on city owned land near the Municipal Airport on the
Service Road for the Rubber Bowl and Derby Downs and next to the Akron BMX track (map)
- Features areas tailored to beginner, intermediate, and
advanced skaters which include:
- a 4 sided pyramid for stunts positioned in the middle
- a large bowl sinking to a depth of 7 feet
- a 65 foot snake roll leading into the bowl
- a smaller bowl with a depth of 5 1/2 feet
- a spine
- stairs
- ledges
- rails
- quarter pipes
- No charge, year round, dawn to dusk, weather permitting
- Rules are posted at the park
