Self Select cards enable you to pick a package of features and benefits which best suit your personal financial circumstances. Most self select cards usually allow you to choose:

  • How much interest you would like to pay (lower rates usually mean fewer other benefits).
  • How much interest free period you have (shorter periods give you a lower interest rate).
  • Whether you will receive any cash back rewards (this usually means paying a higher interest rate, but this will not be a problem if you pay off your balance in full each month).

Accucard are the leaders in the self select credit card market. They provide cards on behalf of a number of popular brands:

  • Accucard ("own brand")
  • EasyMoney
  • Lloyds TSB
  • Remember that "mix and match" cards may suit you well if your needs change throughout the year, although you may get better value by having two cards for different purposes. For example, you could use an American Express Blue card for loyalty rewards, and a Marbles card for long term low interest.
