Sacrifice to Eros
Sacrifice to Eros is a new play by Fred Timm. It's described as a mythic retelling of a Biblical parable (Luke 15, the prodigal son story). Sacrifice to Eros is set on a failing farm at the height of the Great Depression, and follows the Westfield family as they make their journey from ignorance to the promise of understanding to the acceptance of forbidden love. Gay themes and a multiracial cast heighten the emotional issues of prejudice and oppression among family and society.
