Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa always operated in Venice in helping young artists to find popularity, even providing working spaces and funds. When duchess Felicita Bevilacqua La Masa died, the entire Palace facing the Grand Canal, Cà Pesaro, was left as a gift to the city with the purpose of promoting those young artists that normally are excluded in the major exhibitions. This tradition is still brought forward nowadays as Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa put at disposal of young artists spaces situated on the top floor of ancient Palazzo Carminati. Many famous artists of twentieth century as Emilio Vedova, De Pisis and Tancredi spent some of their days here improving their skill on modern art. Phone:

The Fondazione Giorgio Cini was founded in 1951 on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore by Vittorio Cini, to commemorate his son Giorgio. After massive restoration works, the old Benedictine monastery became the setting of cultural, social and educational activities. Originally devoted to studying Venice history and Venetian civilization, over the past 50 years the Giorgio Cini Foundation expanded its activities and gradually became what it is today: a contemporary center of international research, with an active contribution of experts and scholars from all over the world. With eight Research Institutes devoted to Art History, History of the Venetian State and Society, Literature, Theatre and Opera, Venice and the East, Vivaldi, Music, Comparative Music Studies and Venice and Europe the Fondazione Giorgio Cini promotes exhibitions, conferences, seminars, classes and various publications. Opening
hours: 10-18, closed on Monday. |
