How to use your Starting Points Directory:

Your Starting Points Directory is great for saving favorite locations like home and work so you can search easily for businesses near them. You can also use it for handy access to phone numbers of friends or anyone else you call.

If you are a registered user, be sure to login before saving an address, so it will be stored together with any previously saved addresses you may have.

You can save a starting point either from the Starting Points Directory itself or from the Search By Distance form. From the Starting Points Directory, click "Add a starting point." From the Search By Distance form, fill in the address and click "Save this address." In either case you will be prompted to supply a name for the address. The name you choose (e.g., "John Doe", "Home", "Dentist") is displayed on the Search By Distance form and in your Starting Points Directory along with the address. You must also supply some address information. The minimum is either the City and State or the ZIP Code.

Once you've saved a starting point, you may search for businesses located near it either by clicking "Search near" next to the address in your Starting Points Directory or by selecting the address on the Search By Distance form.

You may modify or delete a starting point by clicking the appropriate link next to the address.

To access your Starting Points Directory from different computers (e.g., at home and at work), you need to register. It's free and simple -- see the instructions above, under "Unregistered and registered versions of My Directory."
