There are many losmens that cost around Rp400 such as
Noor Arpiah, JI. Kol. Sugiono 77, or Mess Kal Tang on
the same street; built like an army barracks, also with
its resident dukun. Losmen Abang Amat, Gang Panato 17,
Rp400 is the best because it's the most central and
fairly quiet; they're also used to the likes of us.
The owner is a remarkably well-preserved 55 year old
Indonesian Marion Brando. Losmen Taman Sari by the bridge
overlooking the busy river, is Rp600 double. Losmen
Pang. Tablong, JI. Pegadayan 68 A-68-B, 15 minutes from
the bus station, Rp300, provides breakfast for Rp150;
perhaps the cheapest in Banjar, not clean, not dirty.
Of the higher standard hotels, the Perdana Hotel, JI.
Katamso 3, Rp2500, is quite clean and very friendly.
Benua Hotel, JI. Katamso 8, near Perdana Hotel, is Rp1500.
