We got going at 6:00 on this rough day of 25 kph easterly trades going to my favorite buoy. On our first pass we took a double shibi and got one of them. When we baited only small shibi and aku came up on the bait. Then a shark came along and ate one of our live baits, Scot started feeding it small shibi to bring it closer, after that we did not see it again. We jigged and got some small aku and shibi. It was a rugged day of big seas and lots of wind. No hits on the way in. They were real troopers these folks were. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a late start at 7:30 after repairing a transmision hose on this rough day of 20 kph north winds going to my favorite buoy. We got a nice mahi on our first pass, then 2 more on the next 2 passes. Then we caught some aku and ran them live, soon 2 mahi came sniffing around and Scot baited them both up. The big shibi were not coming up on our bait so we jigged and caught some more aku till the shibi came up. We got a few good passes getting 3 or 4 a pass, then it was time to go. These folks did great considering how rough it was today. In the harbor only Scott was up for an eyeball. Good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph west winds going to my favorite buoy. We took a double shibi on our first pass and got them both. Then we caught some aku and ran them live, then went to bait and the shibi came around a little. We were getting 1 or 2 a pass untill later when we had a good pass and got 6. A mahi came by and Scot baited it up. The bite got better and we were getting 3 or 4 a pass. On our last pass another mahi came by and Scot baited it up too. We kept these guys busy most of the time, and they did great on all these fish, good going men. Back in the harbor they all ate eyeballs, I like it. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 7:00 today becuse the surf was so big yesterday that it closed out the channel in the late afternoon, on this day of 15 kph sw winds going to my favorite buoy. We caught some aku and ran them live and then started baiting and the shibi came up as usual, We were getting 3 to 5 a pass, then we had one really good long pass where Scot hooked up 11 and they got them all. This couple love to fish and it showed, they never got tired of reeling in fish after fish after fish. The only time they got a rest was on the way back up to the buoy. The bite was steady right up untill we ran out of bait. If we had an endurance award they would have won it. Back in the harbor they both gladly ate eyeballs, I like it. And they are going again on Friday. Good going! Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Linda Taylor, Mark Hansen, Tim Cassidy, and Ray McMillan caught 16 shibi and 1 mahi for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph sw winds going to my favorite buoy. No trolling hits so we went to the light line and caught some aku and ran them live. When we stoped to bait a shark ate one of our aku and was on for a long time while we baited up shibi, with it hooked up it can't bother us, but it eventually broke the line. We kept getting shibi every pass o bait , then our mahi came to the back of the boat looking for a hand out, so Scot gave her one with a hook in it, and Tim got it. Back in the harbor only Tim was game to eat an eyeball, These folks did a great job today. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Artie and Justin Schneider, Jojo Bulseco, Brett Cowan, Peter Schneider, and Aaron Betancourth caught 30 1/2 shibi and one 95 pound marlin for a wild day
We got underway at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph sw winds going to my favorite buoy. No hits trolling so we went to the light line and caught some aku and ran 2 live. When we baited the shibi came up and it was game on, we were getting anywhere from 3 to 6 fish a pass, with 4 on lots of the time. Then it got a bit slow only 2 or 3 a pass, but some bigger ones did come up then. We had a shark eat half of a 20 pound shibi on one pass. On the way in we hooked our marlin and Brett did a good job reeling it in. In the harbor Artie was the only one to not eat an eyeball. Good going men! Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Tim Remzi, Burke Johnson, John Smith, and Scott Balmos caught 55 shibi for an action packed day of fishing
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph south winds going to my next favorite buoy.  We took a shibi hit on our first pass, but a porpoise came up and ate it off the hook. We went to light line and caught some small aku and shibi, no big ones, so we went to my favorite buoy. We got a nice shibi on our first pass, then came back with bait and the bite was on. We were getting 3 or four  a pass, then we had a really good pass and got 17 in one long pass, it was wild action, we had 4 fish on many times on that pass. These guys were all avid fishermen and it showed, they were unhooking fish so Scot could bait them up faster. As soon as a fish came in Scot would have one more on in seconds, it was as good as it gets. In the harbor all these guys ate eyeballs, I like it. It was a pleasure to have good anglers on a day like this, good going men! Aloha Capt Rusty

Then a mahi came by and Scot baited it up, and we got it. The bite was slow , we had to work at it. Dan baited up another mahi and we got it too. We went to another buoy and ran 2 live aku, when we baited we had something eat one of our aku and take it off the hook. We got 2 more shibi there. No hits on the way in. In the harbor only Dan was game to eat an eyeball. Good going men! Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Mack and Peggy Spitellie caught 18 shibi and 2 mahi for some fast fun
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 25kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We hooked a small shibi on our first pass and ran it live. Then we went to baiting and the big shibi came up and we got 2 and a mahi on that pass. Next pass we got 3 more shibi. Then on our third and final pass we got the school to stay with us for a long time, we landed 12 shibi and 1 mahi, the action was hot and heavy. Mack was reeling in fish after fish after fish, and Scot just kept hooking more up. it was wild, the deck was awash with fish. That's what happens when it gets rough. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my old favorite buoy. We got 3 shibi on our first pass. Then came back with bait and got 2 more and a nice mahi too. They stopped for a while so we jigged and caught some aku, when we hooked a shibi trolling we went back to baiting. A small mahi came by and Scot baited it up and a bunch more shibi too. On our way in we found an open school of mahi and got one trolling. In the harbor Garry and Jeremy were game to eat eyeballs, alright. These folks did great considering how rainy and rough it was today. Aloha Capt Rusty
