Mild at first, then turning cold in the second half. Mean temperatures were generally above average, most noticeably in Scotland. Rainfall totals were below average away from eastern areas. Some areas in the south had only a quarter of their normal rainfall and many areas had their fourth consecutive month with lower than average rainfall totals.

50 cm of lying snow was reported from Boltshope Park (Northumberland) and 23 cm from Carterhouse (Scottish Borders), both on morning of 25th. Redhill (Surrey) recorded a temperature of -9.5 °C overnight 27/28th.
