The myth that you need to submit to search engines is far gone. Anyone who attempts to tell you that "its a requirement", or "you need to submit monthly" is simply after your money. Google, like all other engines follow links on the Internet to find websites. Yes, you can submit your site directly to Google, however; if you don't have any quality links for Google to follow to your website, they will drop it again. This being the case, forget about submitting to engines and lets concentrate on directory submission. The engines will find your site just as quickly through links, and actually prefer it that way.
As part of our pricing, we will submit your website to certain directories around the web to give you quality links pointing towards your site. An integral part of our search engine optimisation strategy, include:
#Yahoo Directory (Non-Commercial Sites Free) otherwise paid
inclusion
# DMOZ Directory - though becoming increasingly difficult to get an
editor to list you
# Go Guides, Gimpsy, Joe Ant, Skaffe, Zeal and more
# Specific Niche Directories ie. Your a wedding site, so submission
to wedding directories
# and just about anything else we can find ... unless you're
already listed

Why doesn't Google index any of my pages?
"If your pages haven't been indexed yet, it's probably because there aren't enough other pages on the web that link to them. Google looks at the link interconnectedness among pages, relying on the vastness and openness of the Internet to yield the most relevant search results. If other pages don't link to yours, we can't assign your pages a PageRank (our proprietary measure of a page's importance) in a reasonable way. Once other pages point to them, we'll pick your pages up." Source: Google Information For Webmasters
