     A program coordinated by the ETSU Office of Career Placement and Internship Services  which allows students to earn academic credit, receive pay for most placements, and gain valuable on-the-job experience in a major/minor field of study.  Opportunities for co-op occur in almost every academic program at the university.  The words cooperative education placements and internships are industry terms that mean the same thing, but used interchangeably by employers and the university to identify certain specific placements.
     


     

    -  Sophomore (30 hrs. accrued credit) 
        through graduate level
    -  Formally declared major
    -  Minimum GPA of 2.0 - undergraduate
    -  Minimum GPA of 3.0 - graduate level 
     


    -  Excellent recruiting tool 
    -  A pool of potential permanent employees already screened
       and trained
    -  Method to release highly paid personnel for more specialized 
        work

    Stop by the the Office of Career Placement and Internship Services, 2nd  level (ARC Center),  D. P. Culp University Center to complete the necessary paperwork to establish a file.  You will learn how the positions are posted and the steps to take in applying.
