Fun game with some downsides though
I was in the Open and Closed beta of this game and it rocked. This game is has potential to be a great MMORPG. It does need a better level system(I made it to lvl 10 in 15min). Pretty much you start out as a fighter or mystic. That's it. It's not very individual until you reach higher levels and then you can start branching of into other classes. Then there are newbs. I mean when us C.B. people where playing, we were newbs, but everyone was cool about it. As soon as O.B. came around, it was awful! They never stop begging. Then you have the hot-heads who think that they can kill you since PK is allowed. I'm okay with newbs because we were all newbs when we first began but these ones tick me off. I'll probably watch the game and when the newb disease has died down, I'll buy it. If you have no problem with newbs get it. It has some the best graphics in any genre of games. The controls are nice and it has a learning curve of about 1-1.5 hours. Like I said, good game, bad players.
GREAT GAME!!! VERY FUN!!!
(...) I have spent much time on the NCsoft website researching this game. The graphics are SWEET!! Not able to really customize your character?? NOT TRUE!! There are many hair styles you can choose from. Your character can be a Human, Orc, Elf, Dark Elf, or Dwarf. You can choose your race and then if you want to be a fighter or mystic. At level 20 you can choose to be a more specialized class such as an Elven Fighter can choose to be a knight or a rogue. The special classes keep splitting every group of levels you get to. Each race/class choice has its own playing styles used in battle. The only bad things about the game is the Death and Weapons. When you die you have a chance to drop items. I cant imagine how bad it would be to die and drop a highclass weapon. Also when you die you lose experiance but that comes with every game. There are not really a wide selection of your weapons. There are about 15 diff items in every category.(Armor, Shields, Swords, etc.) Even with those mild set backs the game will be great and i would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Diablo 2, Morrowind(but with more action), or Everquest. (...)
It's still fun
I started playing lineage 2 back when it was in open beta, I got adicted and havent stoped yet. The graphics are awesome and with a decent video card (Raedeon 8500+ or equiv) it feels like your really there. Theres tons of lore and backstory to play off of if you like to role play.
The only real downside is monthly cost, but to me this game is worth it.
A+
