Fishing Tips from Photon Lures
Watch the Barometer
During the spring pre-spawn season your friendly barometer and TV weather
station are great fishing tools. Sunny spring days begin to warm up the lake
water encouraging small mouth bass to move from the depths into the warmer,
shallower water. When several sunny days are strung back to back you can
expect the inevitable spring cold front to be not far behind. Check
the weather. When you see the national weather map showing a cold
front will be arriving within the next 24 hours you can be sure that the
feed will be on at your local lake. Bass sense the coming cold front and
falling barometer. The pre-spawn bass try and get as much to eat before the
weather goes bad. So, save up some vacation days and be ready to head to the
lake with s and spinners to attack the 4-8’ water in sun-exposed coves when
you know the barometer will be falling.
