Adam Spah, Wade Navratil, Zachary Navratil, and Samantha Navratil caught 1 mahi 22 shibi and 1 shark
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits trolling so we jigged and put out 2 live aku, and caught some small shibi to start then the bigger ones came up and were biting the light line good. The birds were to much of a problem to be able to bait the shibi, so we just trolled. These folks did great on all these fish. It was a steady bite all morning, lots of triples. On our way in we hooked a mahi on the center and had a shibi hook up on the corner and then it got eaten by a shark, the shark hooked up on the lure and we reeled it in and took it's picture before we let it go. Back in the harbor only Wade and Adam were up for some eyeball consumption, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jamie and Ginger Hakes caught one 47 pound spearfish 1 mahi one shark and 20 shibi for an action packed day
We got underway at 5:30 on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. With 2 miles to go we took a double spearfish and Jamie landed a nice big one. At the buoy we put out 2 live baits and the bigger shibi were biting the small lures well, it was steady action. Then a big shark showed up and it took a while but Scot got it to eat a shibi on a wire leader, Jamie reeled it in and we tagged it and took a picture of it. The shibi came up better after the shark was eliminated, so we just kept pulling them in one after another. Then a mahi showed up and Scot baited it up. Back in the harbor only Jamie was up for eating an eyeball. These guys did a great job today, good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

Chris Callisto, Steve and Mark Buelow, and Jamie Davis caught 1 mahi 1 shark and a bunch of small aku and shibi
We got going at 5:30 on this rough day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We caught a small aku on our first pass on the rigger. Then we put out 2 live aku and jigged and the small ones only were biting. We had a bigger something on a clarke spoon but it came off. So we went to another buoy and caught more small kine, then we had a shark eat half a shibi as it was being reeled in. A while later it came up and ate one of our live baits but did not hookup. So Scot put out a live aku on a wire leader and it was eager to eat that. Steve got to reel it in and we took some pictures and let it go with the hook as a little present from us. Then on our way in we came across a current line with lots of floating stuff, so we followed it and before long a small mahi came in and grabbed the outrigger, and we got it. We had one more mystery strike in the line that came off. Back in the harbor all these guys were up for eating eyeballs, I like it. These guys did great considering how rough it was today, good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Stephen Lathrop-Lee, Colette Celestine Karlsen, and Jan Karlsen caught 7 shibi and a bunch of aku for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10 kph winds going to my next favorite buoy. When we jigged we caught some small aku and ran them live. When we baited we only caught some small shibi, so we kept on jigging. Colette caught not only the first bigger shibi but the biggest one too. We took one triple where we got all three nice ones. It was a slow day with the water as flat as a lake, we had to work hard to get what we did get today. These folks all loved to fish and it showed. In the harbor they all ate eyeballs gladly, I like it. Good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

The Weningers Tom, Alex, Steve, Tyler, and Tina caught 4 shibi and a bunch of small aku too
We got going at 5:30 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We jigged and caught some small aku and ran 2 live. When we baited a few shibi came up but the birds were a real problem today, they were eating all the bait before the fish could. Scot did manage to hookup a few on bait but it was not easy. The small stuff was biting good so we jigged and caught a bunch of that. We then went to another buoy and only got small kind there. In the harbor both Steve and Tom were up for eating eyeballs, I like it. These folks did great on all these fish today, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Tony and Antonio Monetti caught 13 shibi and a lot of aku for a fun day
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. There was a aku boat (they use lift poles and throw live bait to catch aku) at the buoy when we got there, when we jigged we caught some aku and ran 2 live. When we baited we were getting 1 or 2 shibi a pass, it was a bit slow but they were biting. Tony and Antonio did great fighting these fish. We had no takers on our live baits. Back in the harbor Tony was game to eat an eyeball out of a shibi. Good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

Chad and Jessica caught 11 shibi and some aku for some fun
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No trolling hits so we jigged and put out 2 live aku. When Scot baited we got a few shibi that way, and some jigging. Then a shark ate one of our aku and cut the leader on the run. We kept jigging and the small stuff with an ocasional bigger one was steady. Then we pulled our secret weapons around and Chad hooked the big one of the day a nice 20 pounder. These folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

David Winter, Rob Jackson, Ricky Reyes, and Johnny Murdoch caught 1 marlin 250# and 10 shibi for a great day of fishing
We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. No hits so we jigged and put out 2 small shibi live. When we baited no big ones came up so we kept on jigging, we had just put out a fresh live aku when I saw a big boil behind us, next thing we know our live aku slams down from the rigger and Scot freespools to the marlin, it then swam right behind the boat not knowing it had swallowed our hook deep. Scot reeled it tight as I gassed it up to set the hook, she never jumped once, and only took out 125 yards of line. Rob did great reeling her in about 25 minutes. It was not too frisky at gaff and we got her. Then we went back to the buoy and now that we had removed the perdator the bigger shibi were up and still not eating bait but they were biting trolling. In the harbor only Rob and Johnny were game to eat the eyeballs out of the marlin, good going men you did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

David Ruse, Ken Foster, Eli Miller, Mike Miller, and Bill Miller caught 6 mahi and 7 shibi for a fun day
We got going at 7:00 so we could see the waves in the channel this morning going to my favorite buoy. No hits trolling so we jigged only to see porpoise all around the buoy, so we went to another buoy. There we jigged and put out 2 live baits, and then baited and started to get a few bigger shibi. It was slow , then a few mahi showed up and Scot baited them up 2 at a time. Right after we pulled in a shibi a big marlin swam by and looked at our baits but did not eat one, bummer. Back in the harbor the fish got to keep their eyes today. These guys did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty
