Q: Why Should I attend this year's JavaOne conference?
Experience the uniqueness the JavaOne conference offers -- gain knowledge and Java technology education directly from Sun Microsystems, Inc. and other industry leaders. Get expert advice on solving the most common Java challenges.   Benefit from four full days of content. Choose from hundreds of technical sessions and test drive real-world Java technology solutions in any of the following topics:

Core Platform (J2SE Technology)
Core Enterprise (J2EE Technology)
Desktop
Web Tier
Tools
Mobility and Devices
Cool Stuff

Q: What is the difference between a Technical Session and a Business Session?
Technical Sessions

These sessions are in-depth technical talks by Sun and cross-industry experts and innovators in Java technology. The talks cover a wide range of subjects, including critical platform news and updates, how-to guidance, problem-solving tips, best practices in application development and deployment, and new and cool uses of Java APIs and related technologies. The talks are designed to fascinate you, inspire new thinking, and give you practical knowledge you can take back and apply to your projects. These sessions may have demos, and most -- particularly the many advanced talks -- include extensive source code examples.

Business Sessions

These sessions can take several formats: panel discussions, industry case studies, market success stories. Panels typically feature several speakers from leading techynology suppliers in a free-flowing format, typically with a moderator. Case studies hightlight successful implementations of Java technology: they may begin by outlining a problem that needed to be solved and then explain the challenges and choices the developers face in solving the problem. Market success stories focus on a vendor or ISV and explain how the organization's developers arrived at a successful implementation of a product using Java technology.

Q: What is a Birds-of-a-Feather Session (BOF)?
Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) sessions are smaller and more informal than technical and business sessions. They are typically led by one or two speakers and are normally held in the evenings. Some BOFs may open with a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer section, while others take the form of open, "round-table" disucssions about particular topics of interest to the Java technology developer community.
