With a legislative proposal pending to allow children of illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition while attending Nebraska's public colleges, lawmakers are watching a federal lawsuit challenging a similar law in Kansas.

OMAHA Police apprehended a man suspected of carjacking a minivan in Atlantic, Iowa, and firing gunshots at law enforcement officers during a 50-mile high-speed chase that ended in north Omaha on Thursday evening. No one was injured, authorities said.
