Fishing at White Oak
Through the years, White Oak has taken great care to stock and manage the six ponds that are located on the property. With the assistance of Auburn University's Department of Fisheries even the average angler has a good chance of netting bream, catfish and six to eleven pound Florida largemouth bass.
The largest pond, almost 13 acres, is directly in front of the lodge and has a nice clean edge, making it the perfect spot for youngsters to catch their limit of bream any time of the year, although Spring is the best! You and your young person may simply walk from your front door and enjoy an early morning fishing trip on a misty pond.
Picture 1000 secluded acres where family and friends gather regularly to enjoy the simple, natural pleasures; the sound of wind rustling through the trees, observing the wildlife such as deer, turkey and quail that amble through the property or gather around a fire in the lodge and enjoy one of the board or card games.
The ponds are managed for maximum and balanced growth of the fish. There are fish feeders located around the edges to provide year round nutrition.
Which fish may be kept and which must be released will change periodically. It is always best to check before you start fishing to see what the current limit is. These are all private ponds and are not open to the public.
