First off, if you are looking for a credit card with low interest, you are going to need to make sure your credit score is good. Most companies will not give a low interest credit card to anyone who they believe is a financial risk. If you have a good credit score, not only will it be easier to obtain any credit card, but it will be easier to find one with a low interest rate as well.

You can improve your credit score many ways, but the best way to improve your credit score is to make all your monthly payments on debt. If you miss a payment, it will reflect this on your credit score in a negative fashion. Paying all your debts on time will show that you are responsible, and not a financial risk.

Do not have a large amount of debt. Sometimes, even if you have a good credit score, the sheer volume of debt you owe will scare away credit card companies. However, if you have very little debt, with a good credit card score, these companies will see that you have a history of managing your finances well, and will not think you are a financial risk.

If you have a few small outstanding debts, even if you are paying on them monthly, it would be a good idea to pay them off if possible, before applying for a credit card. The better you prepare yourself, the better your chances for receiving that low interest card.

After you have found a company you wish to apply for a credit card with, submit your application. Then wait for them to reply. Do not go and submit applications everywhere you can find a low interest credit card. There is a good reason not to do this. Every time you apply for one of these credit card, the company will check your credit score. Every time someone checks your credit score, there is a little note put on it, which can also reduce your credit score.

So, if you are applying with hundreds of companies, your credit score is going to drop from all the queries, and you will be less likely to get your low interest credit card.

The best resource for finding your low interest credit card is the internet. Occasionally you will receive a letter in the mail offering you a credit card, but your best chance is to search online. There are hundreds of companies offering credit cards out there, all you have to do is find the one company that has a interest rate equal to, or lower, than what you are searching for. When you have found the proper company, read their FAQ, and then you can place your application.

Usually with a few seconds, to a few days, you will get your response, either congratulating you one being accepted, or apologizing because they cannot give you one of their low interest credit cards.
