Three elegant sister ships, all built in Germany and all 5 star awarded, - that is why China Regal Cruises claimed to be offering the ultimate cruise experience on the Yangtze River. Princess Jeanie, along with Princess Elaine and Princess Sheena, was designed to western standard of safety and refinement. Built in 1993 and entered service in 1994, Princess Jeannie is 424 feet long and 52 feet wide. Equipped with three independent engines (3x1000 BHP), it sails at 22 knots upstream and at 30 knots downstream on the Yangtze River. It has 5 decks and a capacity of 258 passengers.

With most advanced navigation equipment on the ship, it features fully stabilization, quiet operation, and highest safety. All the public in-door halls or decks were well furnished and elegantly decorated. There are two dining rooms aboard, the Emperors Dining offers both provincial gourmet dishes from various regions of China and Western cuisine in an elegant dining setting, while the Golden Pavilion Dining offers buffet style Western cuisine and Chinese fare. Other facilities include a 100 people capacity ballroom, where live music and traditional Chinese performance such as opera, dance and acrobatics are occasionally offered, a Lotus Bar and a Misty Lounge, beauty salon, tanning salon, in-room massage, sauna, spa and fitness center, gift shop and postal. There is also a business center completed with satellite communication, telephone and fax and copy service.

The outstanding service of Regal China Cruises has been one of the important reasons that they have had year-round high occupancies in recent years. A 10-piece brass band heralds the travelers’ arrival and a hot tea service greets each guest in-room. Housekeeping department checks rooms twice daily to ensure supplies are replenished. Nightly turndown service includes a delicious chocolate on every pillow, along with a cozy pair of Chinese slippers and luxurious robe of lounging in each suite. With more than 150 staff aboard each vessel and a combination of western style management and superb Asian hospitality, they claim that all the guests will receive the kind of service unsurpassed even in some of Chinas best hotels.

While traveling in comfort and style, witnessing the breathtaking sights of legendary Yangtze waterway, guests are also given many chances to immerse themselves in Chinese culture, art and lifestyles. They can go to lessons in Chinese language, shadow boxing, Tai-chi, Mah-Johng, card games or calligraphy at their own interests.

China Regal Cruises ships sail between Wuhan and Chongqing in 2003.
