More Quick Reviews

eblaster box.jpg eBlaster is an excellent activity monitor for home usage. The program monitors nearly every type of computer and Internet activity and is simple to configure and use. It lacks only a few features that Spector Pro has, but is a little easier to use.

IamBigBrother is an excellent activity monitor if you are not concerned about monitoring P2P downloads. All of the program’s advertised features worked as expected and the user interface is well organized and integrated with the popular online services.

Explore Anywhere’s Spy Buddy did very well in our usability and performance testing with the exception of P2P monitoring. However, the price is higher than other products with similar features.

We found SpyAgent to be very good at recording all of the activities in our tests. The program could be organized better and there was no way to view a particular day's worth of activities.

Invisible Keylogger does a great job of logging keystrokes, websites visited, and screen captures. It organizes log files according to activity and date which makes reviewing a particular day’s worth of activities a simple task. We ranked Invisible Keylogger in the middle of the pack since it does not log both sides of email or chat conversations.

KeyLoggerPro is among the best of the keyloggers we tested. As an overall activity monitor, however, the program is missing some key features like chat and email recording. In addition, KeyLoggerPro does not record websites accessed by clicking on an HTML link. For these reasons, we rated KeyLoggerPro in the bottom third of our rankings.

007 Spy has limited logging capabilities since it cannot save email or chat conversations. Also, the interface for reviewing keystrokes and websites leaves something to be desired when reviewing more than a couple of days of computer activity. There are better programs out there.

GoldenEye is useful for monitoring Internet chat conversations but not much else. The program does not log received email, and the interface for viewing websites visited and keystrokes logged is clumsy.

We were disappointed in the testing of Guardian Monitor Pro. The program would not let us view the content of emails and missed some of our web-surfing activities. The screen capture capability is all but useless since it is impossible to read anything on the screen. There are much better programs available for a lower price.
