International law, tax and auditing firm Norr Stiefenhofer Lutz (NSL) recently appointed three new partners in its Prague office.
| Richter | Tomas Richter joined NSL from Allen & Overy, where he worked after completing his postgraduate degree in international business law in 1996. Richter has been a practicing attorney in the Czech Republic since 1998, and has also worked in London and Frankfurt. He specializes in corporate financing, bankruptcy and dispute resolution law. In addition to his practice, he lectures at the Charles University Institute of Economic Studies. In 2004, he authored a major project on bankruptcy law reform for the Industry and Trade Ministry.
Zuzana Spanikova has been at NSL since 1995, having joined the firm during her law studies in Germany. She is a practicing attorney in the Czech and the Slovak republics. She worked in NSL's Munich office and was seconded to the London office of English firm Macfarlanes. She heads the NSL office in Bratislava that opened in October 2004.
| Zenaty | Roman Zenaty has worked as a lawyer for NSL for the past four years. He now heads NSL's tax practice, and is qualified as a Czech tax adviser, expert accountant and auditor. He specializes in tax and accounting aspects of mergers and acquisitions and in cross-border taxation.
After two and a half months of missing its co-founder and managing director Jakub Dosoudil, software company Cleverlance has decided to fill the vacancy with the firm's technical director, Dobromil Podpera.
| Podpera | Dosoudil remains unaccounted for after the devastating tsunamis that hit Southeast Asia in late December. He and his girlfriend were vacationing in the region.
While heading the company, Podpera will also continue to act as Cleverlance's technical director. He will, however, share some of the duties as technical director with other members of the company's management.
| Srank | Alexander Srank has relocated from Bratislava to Prague to become the director of assurance services at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). His responsibilities include providing audits, financial reviews and advisory services to corporate clients, primarily in the consumer and industrial products, technology and IT sectors.
Srank has been with PwC since 1994. In 1998-99 he was engaged in audits and transactions in the firm's London office.
Srank studied information technologies at the Bratislava Technical University and is a certified accountant (ACCA).
After a four-year hiatus, the rejuvenated Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) now has a spokesman Jiri Kovarik. Kovarik last worked at the Industry and Trade Ministry. The last official BCPP spokeswoman, Anna Kovarikova, quit her job in summer 2001.
