The Sims Fire started early 7/28/2004 on the Lower Trinity Ranger District, Six Rivers National Forest. The fire was located south of Sims Mountain, 17 air miles south of Willow Creek, California. The point of origin was at the Grouse Creek Bridge on Route 6.

Fire Prevention
With the increase in homes being built in the wildland urban interface, protection of those homes presents a difficult challenge for the fire fighting community.
