Watch the dramatic change from dull brown to rainbow bright as spring flowers begin to bloom at the Garden this month.

Snowdrops bravely weathered the light March snows.  Now we are seeing purple, yellow and white crocuses in the Bulb Garden and the lawns of the Rose Garden and Evening Island.

Reticulata irises, in shades of violet and blue, are popping open in the Bulb, Sensory, Heritage and English Walled Gardens.  Also in the Bulb Garden look for spring meadow saffron.

The odd-looking Japanese butterbur can be seen on Evening Island. The buds of Corneliancherry dogwood and forsythias are starting to show yellow.

Trees are also showing signs of life, with green shoots developing on willows and catkins dangling from alder trees.  See spring arrive at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
