Things
To Do While Visiting ...
The best way
to get acquainted with the city is to start walking: Toronto is
a pedestrian-oriented town, and there's no better way to absorb
the ambience of the various neighborhoods than to walk through them.
For a panoramic view of the city, head to the top of the CN Tower,
one of the world's tallest self-supporting structures.
Because
Toronto is Canada's largest city, it's no surprise that many of
the nation's prominent museums and wildlife facilities are found
there. Be rested before visiting the sprawling Royal Ontario Museum
(affectionately called "the ROM"), Canada's largest museum
with five floors of exhibits. One of Toronto's attractions is the
medieval-style mansion Casa Loma. Other city sights include the
Art Gallery of Toronto, the Ontario Science Centre and the Bata
Shoe Museum. If you like zoos, don't miss the African
Lion Safari or the Toronto Zoo.
And don't forget High Park, a pristine area with waterfalls surrounded
by huge flower gardens. .

Tips...
Tipping advice
Like the rest of North America, there is no automatic service charge
added to restaurant bills. Tipping is generally expected and can be
problematic if one is used to having a service charge included in
the bill. Service charges can only be added to the bill with your
consent and normally amount to 10-20% of the total. Doormen and porters
are normally tipped at around 1 USD per bag in a standard hotel. Maid
service may be tipped at around 1 USD a day.
Dress code
Managers and executives are expected to dress conventionally; generally,
men will be expected to wear a business suit and tie, and women a
suit or a conservative dress. Business dress may be less formal on
Fridays. Outside the business environment, casual clothes are acceptable
in most situations, with the exception of some restaurants and hotel
lounges.
Local Customs
As with most Western countries, smoking is the subject of much debate
in Canada. Most business locations provide some form of rest area,
however many of these are designated non-smoking and some companies
and businesses have banned smoking on their premises completely. If
you are a smoker, exercise discretion and sensitivity when selecting
a place in which to smoke. The best advice would be not to smoke unless
others around you do so.
Getting
Here and Getting Around...
The
airport is located about 17 miles (27 kilometers) from downtown,
and the journey takes half an hour. The easiest method of transport
is by taxi or airport shuttle, although a bus service and a subway-bus
connection service also exist.
