A "Pollie" is a highly coveted prize among political professionals and this year the competition was intense - with a record number of entries. New Leadership at the AAPC
The American Association of Political Consultants recently announced new leadership for the organization. The new President of the AAPC is Republican media consultant Wayne Johnson. Tony Fazio, a Democratic direct mail consultant, was elected to serve as the Vice President and Whit Ayres, a Republican pollster, was elected to serve as Treasurer.
The new President, Wayne Johnson, replaces Nancy Todd Tyner, a Democratic consultant who had served as President of the AAPC for the past two years. During her successful tenure as President, Nancy oversaw the 2004 Public Affairs Pollies in Las Vegas, the implementation of the new online Pollie submission and judging system, and the recent Inaugural Pollie Awards in Washington, DC.

AAPC presents awards to Ken Mehlman and campaign team for new Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko
Friday, January 21, 2005 - Washington, D.C. The opening event of the Inaugural Pollie Awards & Conference featured a double billing that reflected the global nature of politics today. Ken Mehlman received the coveted "Campaign Manager Of The Year" award for his effective management of the Bush-Cheney presidential ticket, while the newly installed government of the Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko shared with the American political firm, Aristotle International, the Special Award for "International Campaign Team of the Year" to honor the courageous struggle that against long odds successfully implemented transparent democracy in Ukraine.
