Hikers can discover secluded pristine beaches accessible from the Oregon Coast Trail, plus Redwood nature trails to explore in the northern Redwood groves. Brookings is also known as one of the safest harbors in the Pacific Northwest and attracts both commercial and sports fishermen. The rivers that flow from the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area provide the fall salmon run and the winter steelhead run. These beautiful rivers are also great for summer swimming!
