Challenge: ALLTEL sponsors Ryan Newman and the # 12 car in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, and wanted a way to promote its team through a website dedicated to its racing team and driver. They also needed to be able to advertise various ALLTEL promotions and offerings to the many fans expected to visit the site. Because NASCAR fans are very loyal to sponsors, ALLTEL felt that the online web site for its NASCAR race team was an ideal place to market its products.
Approach: RMG3 took the design provided by ALLTEL and used its proprietary 1Touch™ Content Publishing System to customize the site for ALLTEL staff. Staff members can update the site any time needed, even trackside. ALLTEL Racing specific content is supplemented by the R1 news feed from RMG3’s wholly owned web site, RacingOne.com, providing Ryan Newmans’ fans with the ability to use the ALLTEL Racing site as their one-stop-shop for NASCAR news online.
Results: ALLTEL Racing fans enjoy the many facets of alltelracing.com, including ALLTEL race news, NASCAR news, photo galleries, team bios, and many other features. ALLTEL is able to communicate with its fans through its site in a very efficient manner. ALLTEL has also been able to promote mobile phone deals and products and track the success of the promotions to see which ones have been most successful.
