Several cities across Argentina have seen torrential rain today. In Resistencia there has been 100mm (in 24 hours up to midday Saturday), with 87mm at Posadas, and 84mm at Corrientes. The averages for the month of April are around 150mm.

A frost at Heathrow. | Issued on: Sat Apr 9th 2005
The temperatures across southern Britain took a tumble last night, a frost forming in many places. Even Heathrow airport was down to minus 1.2 degrees by Saturday morning, this busy airport normally a little warmer than surrounding areas. The average minimum is around 7 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorms in China. | Issued on: Sat Apr 9th 2005
Heavy rain and thunderstorms have struck parts of China. The monthly average rainfall figure of 65mm at Zhumadian was easily exceeded (in less than a day), as 82mm fell up to midnight on Friday. In nearby Jingzhou 62mm was recorded, with 44mm falling at Yibin. The city of Beijing was also quite wet, 17mm falling in just 12 hours. Their average for April is 18mm.

Heavy rain and thunder plagues southeastern States. | Issued on: Sat Apr 9th 2005
Heavy rainfall disrupted the Masters Golf tournament, with 38mm falling in Augusta. In Miami, Florida there was a total of 73mm rainfall in 12 hours, up to 1800 GMT Friday. Their April average is 88mm.

Hot in Saskatchewan. |Issued on: Sat Apr 9th 2005
One of the hot spots for Friday was in Coronach, Saskatchewan. They saw temperatures rise to 27 Celsius on Friday, 16 degrees above the seasonal average. The average in April is just 11 degrees.
