I don't have any recent credit reports on file, and I need one to accurately guess how much debt I'm in, so that I can start making steps to improve it. Where and how is the best place to get my credit report--FREE would be nice to, but willing to pay alittle. PLEASE HELP.

Welcome to the forums, Get a report from three of the credit bureaus namely

Experian
Transunion
Equifax

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/credit-report/ this will help, we recommend to get a free copy of all the three reports. The bureaus are supposed to give one or more reports free every year depending on the state law.
