Do you know these dogs? They were found wandering along Gilbert Road in Supply between Midway and Benton. They are black lab mixes and are friendly. The larger dog has a blue collar with no tags. If you have any information concerning the owner(s) of these dogs please let us know.

Look what SOAR got yesterday. Newborn kittens. There are four of them. Okay, so maybe they aren't the cutest things just yet; you just wait another week or two. Won't you come see them?

The husband, Dick Bicknell, of our Owner/Founder, Jeannine Bicknell, died this past Saturday morning. SOAR is in mourning. Dick and Jeannine were living in Florida and he is to be cremated and his ashes returned to his former hometown of Greensboro. The family has asked that if anyone wants to make an honorarium donation that it be to either SOAR or to Ducks Unlimited.

We adopted out two cats today. And we brought a dog to SOAR from the Brunswick County Animal Shelter. She's a sweet black lab puppy that we've named Patty. She is just so loving and wants to be held and petted. We're lucky to have her and the family that adopts her is going to feel the same way. Pictures will be right here very soon.
Patty was adopted on 3/19.

We got two new dogs today from the Brunswick County Animal Shelter. They are Misty and Million Dollar Baby. Misty is a small, female, German Shepherd and Million Dollar Baby is a ....well.. maybe you can figure it out. One thing is for certain; they are both gentle, sweet creatures and are fast becoming best friends. We have them in the same kennel. We'll take them to the vet tomorrow and insure they are in good health. They're wonderful and we'll have pictures of them here very soon.

Look at this cute little thing that we just got. Her name is Chevelle and she's just so sweet and nice. She is very fast and loves to run and play. She is just so cuddly. You pick her up and pet her and then when you put her down she just tries to get you to pick her up again. This little love bug is definitley worth the trip to SOAR to see.
Update: Chevelle got adopted on Sat. (2/16)

Our beloved blind beagle Sally (was Faith) died at 8:45 tonight. Her mother, Gisela, who adopted her from us, and who has taken tender, loving care of her for years now is heartbroken. As are we.
We found out something about Sally recently. Her ill health necessitated that x-rays be taken and these x-rays revealed that her body was full of pellets. Now we know what caused her blindness; someone shot her. The cause of death was lung scar tissue caused by heartworm contracted, and left untreated, before she came to SOAR. She was 11 years old and the sweetest little creature that you can imagine.

One of our puppies and two of our cats, Harry and Choo Choo, were adopted yesterday. And last week, Grace (dog) got adopted. Grace had been with us for well over a year so we are very happy that she has now found a good home. Also, our newborn pups (see 5 items below) are growing and we'll get some more pictures of them on Monday for you to see. They're doing fine. And Mom (we named her Annie) is such a wonderful dog and wonderful mother. She's so sweet. You should come and meet her. She is going to bring a lot of joy into some lucky family's home.

Heather Esada, SOAR's manager (left) accepts a $500 dollar donation from the Greenwood Pet Camp's owners, Susan and Russ 'Frosty the Snowman' Colby. Check out Frosty, he's got a corn cob pipe and a button nose. Also pictured are Boo Boo and Girl. Greenwood Pet Camp offered their Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day boarders a traditional dinner (turkey, gravy, rice, green beans, and rolls) if their owners would make a small donation to SOAR. The pet owners took them up on this offer to the tune of $500 and SOAR was presented with the check today. Thank you Greenwood! And we bet the boarders loved their dinners too!

Big happenings at SOAR last night. Six puppies were born. The mother, along with two other friends, just wandered onto SOAR property on Friday. One of them was very pregnant and that was quickly confirmed last night as she delivered six puppies. All puppies and Mom are doing well.
These three dogs are very gentle and friendly. They must be someone's pets. They are shepherd mixes and weigh approximately 50 - 60 pounds. Do you know anyone missing their dogs? We'll keep them for a while and if they go unclaimed we'll make them available for adoption.
