How can
I be certain that no one will gain access to my card number and
use it?
Bank of Asia has approached
this issue with great care and provides its Payment Gateway Service,
which:
Does not store credit card
information on the website. Once the client keys in their card number,
that data will be directly transferred to the respective credit
card company such as VISA or MasterCard at once. The information
will not be stored on our server.
Protects credit card information using international standard security
measures such as the 128-bit VeriSign SSL and Bank of Asia's proprietary
encryption.
How do we
prevent a person from taking the card number and using our credit
card?
At present, online credit card
payment conducted by Bank of Asia uses a 19 - digit number, as opposed
to the 16 - digit number appearing on the card. The 19 - digit number,
with 3 - digit CVV included, appears on the back of the credit card.
Thus, a person without the actual card will not be able to key in
this additional 3-digit number.
Are there
other non-credit card online payments?
Yes, and there are two options.
ASIA CyberBanking or Internet
Banking. These pay for products or services via the Bill Payment
service. That is, a direct debit or funds transfer from a savings
/ current account to the owner of the products or services.
ASIA Wallet or a virtual account
which the clients can request via our ATMs. The following three
forms are available: ASIA Credit Wallet - A 16-digit virtual account
number obtainable from the ATM using your credit card. Afterwards,
you will be able to use that number to pay for products and services
at any website that welcomes the VISA card.
ASIA Debit Wallet - A 16-digit virtual account number obtainable
from the ATM using your ASIA VISA Electron or Ve Cool card. Afterwards,
you will be able to use that number to pay for products and services
at any website that welcomes the VISA card.
ASIA ATM Wallet - An 8-digit
virtual account number obtainable from the ATM using your ATM card.
Afterwards, you will be able to use that number to pay for products
and services at websites in Bank of Asia's e-Commerce vehicles.
How safe
are online funds transfers?
ASIA CyberBanking allows you
to pay vendors through Bank of Asia's e-Commerce vehicles by means
of account debiting funds transfer. There are two levels of security
systems involved.
User level: Each user will
be given a User ID and a Password. Only with the correct combination
of these security features will it be possible for a transaction
to commence. They can be changed at all times as the ASIA CyberBanking
is a real-time system. If the user is inactive for longer than 5
minutes, the system will log-out automatically.
System level: Bank of Asia has a superb security system both in
terms of hardware and software and includes a firewall and 128-bit
SSL. Moreover, Bank of Asia continually performs internal audits
to test the integrity of the security system for your greater confidence.
